New York Fashion Week 2014 may have come and gone, but not without leaving behind some memorable looks for Fall 2014.
Diesel Black Gold– gave us romantic neutrals with studded jackets and trim. Everything looks effortlessly thrown together as if you were vacationing in the south of France for the summer.
Some of the most beautiful gowns were on display for New York Fashion week. Heavy hitters like Oscar de la Renta and Badgley Mischka dominated the runways. Elegance is not lost on this season. Full skirts and strapless patterned gowns ruled the runway.

Creams, neutrals and color blocking were the theme to BCBG Max Azria’s ready-to-wear show, while fur also seemed to show up in almost every ensemble.
The always perfect, Kate Spade made use of primary colors in her Fall line. A 60’s women in charge inspired theme swept the runway, while she kept her signature feminine touch. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to get my hands on the little red dress!
Tom Ford definitely had one thing to say this season–black. His very women in charge vibe seemed ready to pop right off the runway and into every New York woman’s closet. He does show some color, but mainly with fur and animal prints.
Alexander Wang certainly had a military look mixed in with a slight equestrian flare going on. Models wore monochromatic make up and severely slicked back hair resembling men. Dress’s looked more like coats and boots were knee high, leather and built-to-last.
Rodarte–Star Wars theme. Disney asked the two designers if they would be interested in working them. Being a huge Star Wars Fan Rodarte’s co-designer Justin Thornton jumped at the idea.
As for Hair and Makeup Phillip Lim proved again that runway loves minimal make up. Eyebrows were prominent, while the face was kept clean and fresh. Hair had a modern pompadour style to it.
Alice & Olivia definitely brought in an old Hollywood style with deep lips and a hooded eye. This look never gets old for me, or anyone for that matter. It’s absolutely timeless.
The eighties were alive and well in the Betsey Johnson tent. Metallics were on everything from eyes, to lips and nails and screamed Look at Me! We definitely are. Give me a pink wig any day.
Fashion week gave us some great insight to what we might be seeing in stores this fall. Black is definitely the new black and strong, well-made clothing that might get you through a war was definitely seen more than once through out the designer’s shows. If I had to predict I’d look forward to the “power woman” Fall.
