Snoop Lion, Joe Montana With Ron Conway And Others Hold Benefit In SF For Anti-Gun Violence

A benefit hosted by Ron Conway, Joe Montana and Snoop Lion  (Dogg)  on May 29  in San Francisco brought together much needed focus on gun violence prevention. The after-work event brought together an incredibly diverse and eclectic group of supporters of the anti-gun violence movement from Gabby Giffords to Snoop Lion. All agreed on the  need for a comprehensive plan to address gun violence in the United States. The benefit raised money for Snoop Lion’s “No Guns Allowed” campaign by selling some very unique and compelling items. Joe Montana gave up his Jersey, while M.C. Hammer offered the opportunity of a lifetime…to learn how to dance like him.

Like a true entrepreneur, Snoop offered up his many talents   to raise money for the cause from selling artwork he had painted himself, auctioneering items for the benefit, to finally taking the stage as the DJ. His passion to shift consciousness about gun violence was echoed by the crowd who supported the cause by opening up their wallets. One lucky person bought a pair of shoes worn by Snoop himself for a mere $7,000.

A favorite auction item was dance lessons from one the most famous dancers in the world. Yes, you guessed it. Mc Hammer. Yes, he is indeed“Too Legit” to quit.

I was moved by Gabby Giffords wonderful words. She is an advocate of responsible gun ownership and spoke with passion about the need to keep fighting for change current gun laws.
