Columbia University student Emma Sulkowicz was raped in her own dorm bed. As a senior thesis, the visual arts student will be doing a performance art piece called “Mattress Performance” or “Carry That Weight,” in which she will carry a dorm mattress around with her for as long as her rapist is also a student at Columbia.
