How To Make A Sweater Statement

How To Make A Sweater Statement

Sweaters are closet staples especially when temperatures drop. Although simple sweaters are great for layering in outfits, having a few unique and bold sweaters are a wonderful way to express yourself, even when it’s chilly. Here are a few tips about how to style a statement knit. Rina shows us how:

Nothing beats pairing your favourite knit with your best pair of jeans. When shopping for the perfect knit, I look for pieces that are both good quality and stylish. When I stumbled across this sweater cape by Carmody, there was an instant love connection. I swooned over the unique design and knew it would make a true statement in my wardrobe.

A statement sweater is an easy way to take jazz up your fall basics and can be worn for different occasions. Pair a statement sweater with denim for a more dressed down, yet put together look. Or pair it with your favourite skirt and over the knee boots for an after-work holiday party!

If you plan on styling a colourful statement sweater, try one of the hottest colours of the season: red. If you’re looking more for a statement design or style, try a cape, ruffles or pearl details!

To complete my look, I paired my statement sweater with the newest addition to my hat collection and some patent black booties. I wanted to keep the rest of my outfit monochromatic to really allow the sweater to pop! How would you style a statement sweater?

“Attending private school and wearing uniforms, I always felt the need to test the boundaries. Whether it was with my sky-high hairstyles or slight uniform infractions, I was always looking for a way to stand out amongst my conformed peers. To this day, I still find myself testing the boundaries with my fashion choices and encouraging others to do the same. You can follow my journey through my social media channels as well as my personal blog for fashion, beauty and travel tips as well as “How to’s” for styling the latest trends.” -Rina, And She Dressed.
