In 2016, researchers using AI software ran a text analysis on the phrase “Man is to computer programmer as woman is to X.” The AI equated “woman” with “homemaker.” Machine-learning software trained on datasets shows bias, prejudice and misogyny. Are we training sexism into AI? How do we resolve the problem?
