How We’re Celebrating Independence This Month

How We’re Celebrating Independence This Month

Happy Independence Day to our fellow Americans! We hope all our friends, family, and L&P readers who are observing this holiday are spending the day with their loved ones. Not only should this be a day in which we celebrate the birth of the United States, but let this be a day where we all reflect on the concepts of independence and freedom. What does it mean to be independent? What does it mean to be free? And how can we make sure that everyone in our communities is given the opportunity to be independent and free? Independence and freedom should not be privileges—they should be basic rights to anyone of any class, race, gender, and sexuality.

Our reflections on independence and freedom will continue throughout this summer month. We will explore what these important concepts mean in our country and how it applies to and manifests in the modern woman. Be sure to follow L&P for our future articles!
