Although International Women’s Day has passed, the theme of #PressforProgress will persist through the next year. Now is perhaps the most appropriate and important time for our society to push for gender equality. For Lipstick & Politics, we will be pressing for progress by encouraging women to become more financially literate. Economic equality is crucial because it allows women to wield more agency and influence in their personal lives as well as in the world. If women want to have more of an impact, then we need to make sure we cultivate their financial literacy.
On Wednesday, we held our first event of the year, “Introduction to Financial Planning.” It was an intimate class taught by Molly Newborn, a wonderful Financial Adviser from Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. Molly possesses insight that all women should hear and she is eager to guide more women on how to control and grow their wealth for the future. We also want to thank Lindsey Thompson and American Century Investments for sponsoring our event. Their support is valuable in our efforts to push for economic equality and financial literacy for women. Be sure to watch out for more L&P events!
