The worst thing about vacation season is the packing before the your relaxing trip! There is so much to take into consideration, but the main concern remains: What are the best outfits that balance comfort and style? Rina shows us how.
Today, I wanted to share one of the first outfits I chose to wear to explore Barcelona and provide a few tips on how to dress comfortably and fashionable during your vacation. These tips are particularly helpful if you’ll be exploring a lot on foot and don’t want your feet to be singing at the end of the day.
Choose comfortable footwear
In three days, the hubby and I walked 70,000 steps and even with comfortable shoes, my feet still hurt by the end of day three. The nice thing is you can usually find a cute pair of comfortable sneakers or sandals that go with everything. I brought my black Nike Flyknits because they’re super versatile and look cute with both shorts and dresses.
Find a light, minimalist top
I chose a white tank top in a jersey knit so that I didn’t feel uncomfortable walking around all day. What I love about this simple tank is that I can pair it with more than one bottom for a completely different look. I think I’ll try styling it with a pink maxi skirt next!
Pack/ wear light layers
The nights can get a little breezy and chilly for me in Barcelona, so I decided to bring a light weight denim jacket that I wore mostly around my waist all day. When evening hit, I was able to drape it over my shoulders for added warmth.
Opt for skort rather than short
A skort looks dressier than your typical shorts but has the functionality of shorts. A win-win in my books.
Choose a cute wallet on chain or mini bag to complete your look
I hate toting around massive bags with me when I travel. I usually wear a small cross-body bag so that I can have my hands free. I’ve also had a scary encounter with a pick-pocketer in Paris years back and have learned my lesson not to wear huge bags in public when travelling.
“Attending private school and wearing uniforms, I always felt the need to test the boundaries. Whether it was with my sky-high hairstyles or slight uniform infractions, I was always looking for a way to stand out amongst my conformed peers. To this day, I still find myself testing the boundaries with my fashion choices and encouraging others to do the same.
