Adding Spring To Your Winter Style

Adding Spring To Your Winter Style

Many of us ponder what to wear in between seasons. The summer to fall transition can be difficult, fall to winter is a little easier but for some the transition from winter to spring proves to be the most challenging. Temperatures remain cool so sweaters, coats and boots are a must, especially in cooler climates. Unfortunately, those beautiful winter sweaters that we thought were so chic and perfect in December now look drab and feel worn. Don’t worry, they’ll feel new again next fall. It’s just a seasonal thing!

Shopping can be a bit frustrating this time of year too. Storefront mannequins seem to be taunting us with their fresh, new springtime trends while some of us are still shoveling snow. It’s so unfair. However, spring is on the way but in the meantime here are a few new ideas on how to incorporate spring fashion into your winter wardrobe. No need to sacrifice warmth either.

Feminine Fresh Touch

Add a little lace...

Add a little lace…

Lovely lace is back again this spring but you can wear it now. Layer a lace style top or camisole under a winter sweater or vest. This is a great way to add a feminine fresh touch to your transitional wardrobe. Perfect this spring/summer with shorts and skirts too.

Jump Into The Frayed

Instead of the cuffed denim hem that has been so popular in years past, now the raw or unfinished hem is taking its place. Go ahead and continue wearing your sweaters for warmth but simply add a pair of frayed hem jeans to the ensemble and enjoy this popular spring trend now. Keep your booties close by while the weather is still cool but as the weather warms, add sneakers or classic pumps. Mixing frayed/unfinished hem denim with dressier attire, like crisp button down tops and heels is a trend that will pop up everywhere this spring.

That’s A Front Wrap

Between Winter and Spring 3

Add a front wrap skirt…

Wear a classy wrap front skirt, white cotton top or button down of your choice along with long boots while it’s still cool. When the weather warms up bare those legs with heels for work or sandals and sneakers for a casual everyday look. The mixed-media wrap skirts are trending for spring too. Comfortable and easy to style!

Give The Cold Shoulders

Finally, the cold shoulder top. These tops have been trending for the past year and many designers have put their own personal spin on this style. The above sweater with a peek of shoulder is a fantastic transitional piece for this time of year. If you can’t bare your legs at least bare the shoulders to provide a little springtime fun. These tops work well with denim, skirts or leggings too (depending on length.) If you’re in the market for a trendy transitional top, this would be a perfect choice!
