On April 25th our favorite museum, the SF Museum of Modern Art, held their gorgeous biennial event The Modern Ball. The gala was chaired by Nancy Hellman Bechtle and Charlotte Mailliard Shultz and designed by the famous Stanlee Gatti.
Over 2,000 guests attended the fundraiser event at the museum, including Walt Bettinger (President and CEO of Charles Schwab Corporation), Mimi Haas (Vice Chair of the SFMOMA Board of Trustees), Yves Behar (designer and SFMOMA trustee), Evan Williams (founder of Twitter), Dominique Crenn (chef and owner of Atelier Crenn), Jeremy Stoppelman ( founder and CEO of Yelp), Janet Lamkin (California President of United Airlines), Sergey Brin (co-founder of Google) and many more illustrious attendees. Board of Trustees Chair Charles Schwab was also honored at the event for a decade of leadership. Gracious sponsors for the event were United Airlines, AT&T, Bank of America, Method Products, Valentino, and Facebook.
From the Gala Dinner to the Supper Club to the Post-Modern Party, The Modern Ball was a flurry of color and brilliance. There was a spectrum of visual and taste experiences throughout the evening that we will never forget. It was such a treat to attend the Post-Modern Party especially. We enjoyed looking at all the chic gowns and suits of the guests as well as listening to Grammy-nominated electro pop group Little Dragon.
The Modern Ball Committee and Event Committee put on a truly wonderful night. Event proceeds will go to SFMOMA’s exhibitions and education programs, which serve more than 60,000 students, teachers, and families each year.
