The Cape Is Your Power Coat

The Cape Is Your Power Coat

As we move closer to spring, most of us start putting away our classy peacoats and start transitioning to wearing lighter outerwear. A cape, compared to a peacoat, is a timeless fashion piece that’s not bulky and can block out that slight chill still hanging in the air. It invokes regality and class, just the clothing article you need for when you want to show off the strength you have in yourself. Liat shows us how:

I love winter in Tel Aviv (if I can really call it winter). It’s mostly sunny and warm, especially during the morning hours.  Luckily, there is no need for heavy coat or any other winter equipment. A light coat or cozy knit will keep you warm in these chilly nights, so you can actually spend your days doing outdoor activities without freezing to death. I am taking full advantage of the perfect temperature, before I fly back to Toronto.

The cape is the perfect choice for Israeli winter. The stylish coat alternative is very easy to pull off with any outfit, and it also adds a luxurious and mysterious vibe to any look. I love the idea that I can add an extra layer without feeling too bulky. Since I have this obsession with the 70s, this BCBG colour-blocked cape was love at first sight. I got it few days before my flight to Israel. I knew it would be the perfect outwear piece when a coat is required.

To mix things up and to create a look that can take me from day to night, I paired the patterned cape with a pleated culottes and high chunky heel pump from Aldo Rise.
