Summer is almost over. Don’t fret! There’s still time for beaches and relaxation before returning to work and school. But as autumn draws closer, consider wearing those warm fall colors during the seasonal transition. Rina shows us how:
I used to think that you could only wear certain colours, prints or styles during specific times of the year. Floral only for Spring and Summer and oranges, yellows and reds for Fall and Winter. I’ve come to realize that when it comes to fashion, there are no set rules that can’t be broken, especially if you look and feel good in what you’re wearing.
Today I want to challenge you to step outside your fashion boundaries and try something different!
I’ve accomplished this by incorporating Fall colours into my Summer wardrobe. An added bonus for heading this route is that you have a head start on next seasons clothing and you can prolong the use of certain pieces as the year progress. To find out how to accomplish this, read on for 4 tips on how to incorporate Fall colours into your Summer wardrobe.
1. Choose pieces that have Summer themes or prints. While my romper is a nice mustard colour, its floral print makes it the perfect Summer piece. Since the florals are mild and muted, this romper will make a great asset to my fall wardrobe.
2. You can’t go wrong with a romper. Rompers are a summer staple in my wardrobe. Throw on a pair of tights to take this look from cool to cozy for an updated Fall look.
3. Style a fall-coloured skirt. Keep your look summery by pairing the skirt with a bright or airy top. Since it was a cooler Summer day, I opted for a cream knit to complete my look.
4. Keep your accessories summery. The colours in your outfit may say Fall but pairing your outfit with the right accessories can make it the perfect Summer outfit. I chose a creamy, neutral bag for both looks and went for a fun festival-inspired look for the first outfit. For the second outfit I chose slip-on loafers, whereas I would style the same look with over-the-knee boots for Fall.
Last year, you wouldn’t find me in mustard, orange, or red and now you can find me wearing it all year long!
“Attending private school and wearing uniforms, I always felt the need to test the boundaries. Whether it was with my sky-high hairstyles or slight uniform infractions, I was always looking for a way to stand out amongst my conformed peers. To this day, I still find myself testing the boundaries with my fashion choices and encouraging others to do the same.
