All Hail AOC: Queen Of The Social Media Clapback

New York’s 14th congressional district representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, or AOC, is a one of a kind leader. She holds a lot of influence online because of her unapologetically progressive solutions and views. Although she made history by becoming the youngest woman to hold office in Congress, we’re certain that she will continue to make history and produce a positive impact on our country. To us, she’s an inspiration. One of our favorite aspects about her? Her Twitter clapbacks. Here are our favorite clapbacks from AOC so far.

I hear the GOP thinks women dancing are scandalous.

Wait till they find out Congresswomen dance too! 💃🏽

Have a great weekend everyone 🙂 pic.twitter.com/9y6ALOw4F6

Yup. If you don’t like the #GreenNewDeal, then come up with your own ambitious, on-scale proposal to address the global climate crisis.

Until then, we’re in charge – and you’re just shouting from the cheap seats. https://t.co/h3KSJhHqDN

As a person who actually worked for tips & hourly wages in my life, instead of having to learn about it 2nd-hand, I can tell you that most people want to be paid enough to live.

A living wage isn’t a gift, it’s a right. Workers are often paid far less than the value they create. https://t.co/P5FsQuhCTW

Oh no! They discovered our vast conspiracy to take care of children and save the planet 😂 pic.twitter.com/XYWXmi3Xyk

The Post put the fact that I get into cars (while proposing a plan to invest in better car technology) on their front page 😂

Pack it up folks, the Pulitzer’s been decided. No one can rival this kind of hard-hitting journalism https://t.co/007iOcpyz2

Fox News brought me up 3,000+ times in *6 weeks.*

That’s how hard they’re fighting against dignified healthcare, wages, & justice for all; and turning their firepower on the youngest Congresswoman in history to do it.

Too bad for them, cause we don’t flinch. #ForThePeople https://t.co/3FyuVOq6sq

If by ‘the Latina thing,’ she means I actually do the work instead of just talk about it, then yeah, I’m doing ‘the Latina thing.’

Unless of course she‘s talking about being multilingual, which we know isn’t a ‘Latina thing.’

It’s a ‘21st century’ thing.https://t.co/v41dAyjshP

That’s bc I like:
✅ Solar panels 🛰
✅ Turbines⚙️
✅ Battery Storage 🔋
✅ Electric Vehicles 🚛
✅ Regenerative Ag 🐄
✅ Jobs + Justice 🏗
✅ Funding fuel worker pensions👷🏽‍♂️
✅ Structuring our economy so it doesn’t depend on continuous extraction of working people & the planet 🌎 https://t.co/8BOhxih20H

Ah yes, God forbid a diverse, working-class district (that more accurately represents modern America) actually have equal say in our democracy as your weird uncle with questionable racial beliefs who shares fake conspiracy memes on Facebook. https://t.co/1W6aUzDX7l
