Velvet, the distinctive and classy fabric texture, is making a huge comeback in the latest fall fashion trends. You’ll find it as skirts, tops, and even accessories on the runway to the streets. It may seem daunting to incorporate the regal texture into your closet, but you won’t regret the dimension and shimmer it’ll add to your outfits. Here’s how Liat uses velvet in this outfit:

While bomber jacket and pleated skirt are two of my favorite pieces during the fall season, I developed another obsession to velvet. The luxurious fabric has been spotted everywhere from the runway to the streets and there are many style to chose from: dresses, suits, skirts, and even bags and shoes. At first glance the pleated velvet skirt may seem impossible to pull off, but the feminine silhouette and the rich, golden hue is very flattering and really makes the outfit pop, especially when pairing it with a bomber jacket or an oversized sweater with simple accessories for a polished look.

Even though velvet is a statement piece, you can choose from many styles with the velvet texture. You can actually wear it from day to night depending on your accessories and your own personal style. I decided to team my velvet accordion pleats with an embroidered bomber jacket and a pair of white shoes. I think it’s the perfect way to balance between soft femininity and sporty edge.
